It’s confirmed Eheads: The Final Set on March 7, 2009 at SM Mall of Asia Open Grounds. Produced by MTV Pilipinas and SMART Communications. From the title it self the FINAL SET, who knows it will be their last set together, the last time we will see them on stage performing… But not the last time for us to remember and cherish the memories that we had with them. Eraserheads will never be forgotten by many especially those who really admire them before until now.

Fire Alarm: False Alarm: Fire A-Ham

It happened just this morning, and I want to share this funny and sort of a nervous story of mine. Three of my officemates were my constant breakfast buddies, our Boss who just arrived from his one-week vacation leave brought HAM (a specialty of Cagayan de Oro) for everybody (as breakfast). So my breakfast buddies and I decided to thaw the ham first using the microwave then grill it on the oven toaster, while waiting for the ham, suddenly an unusual sound heard (which is the fire alarm of the building) near the pantry put us on hold for a moment (about 10 seconds I guess), then we saw some of our office mates getting their things and walking towards near us because the fire exit is just a few meters away from where we are.

I immediately put my cup of coffee down, run to my desk and get my things. Ola! I am ready to go. But oops! I forgot my hair iron… hahaha… After getting my hair iron, I went back to the pantry to get my coffee even I am so nervous already.

While waiting for some announcement outside the fire exit area from the building administrators (our engineering department), one of my officemate said jokingly “I think the ham that we’re grilling caused the alarm”. All of us laughed. Only to find out, that due to the strong rain yesterday caused a grounded electrical line which triggers the alarm.

Luckily, after 30 minutes we’re back inside the building. It’s indeed a very unforgettable breakfast for all of us.

Really ironic… Malacañang palace appointing 2007 poll losers one after another… Latest addition on the list was former Ilocos Governor Luis “Chavit” Singsong as Deputy National Security Adviser… Is the list complete already? Vicente Sotto III (Dangerous Drugs Board)- CHECK, Prospero Pichay Jr. (Local Water Utilities Administration)-CHECK, Michael Defensor (Presidential Adviser)-CHECK, and Ralph Recto (National Economic and Development Authority)-CHECK.

Is this the way of Pres. Arroyo to show her what we called “utang na loob”, or her way of saying “hey, thanks guys!”?

As a citizen of this country, I do hope that those appointees will serve the Philippines well.

Manny Pacquiao On Politics

To start with, I am not against to any showbiz or sports personality going into politics, but I don’t think some of them fits to the position.

Yesterday, I saw an article online about Manny joining Kampi party of our very own President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. And it says there “that the 29-year-old boxing icon decided to join Kampi because he wanted to show Filipinos that he can also be a champion in serving his countrymen.” – source: gmanews.tv

Yes Manny can also be a champion in serving the country, but entering the politics may not be the right channel to serve his fellow countrymen. Am I right? Please not politics Manny.

Pacquiao already reaches the top of success, why risk his good name and honor by joining the Philippine politics? He will just going to waste his hard earned money and precious time joining those thick-faced, big time gangster politicians that we have (Ang tamaan… Guilty!).

“Ber” Months… Time To Save Money

Jingle bells… Jingle bells… It’s Christmas time in the City… Ooops! wrong lyrics… It’s silver bells…

Christmas Season here in the Philippines officially started yesterday (September 1, 2008)… Time to save money… How much am I going to spend for my “inaanaks” this year? Oh I need to know first how many Christening I attended this year to be a “Ninang”… hahahaha… Last year each of my inaanaks received Php 100 plus a gift worth Php 100 also. Due to inflation rate hike, for this year I will spend Php 100 for each one of them, anyway it’s the thought that counts and matters the most right?

My Eraserheads: The Reunion Concert Journey

Raimund, Marcus, Ely & Buddy

My mom says (even my sisters) that being an E-heads fan runs through my veins… And she’s correct. The moment I heard their song “Ligaya”way back my high school days I think I fell in love with this group. Composed of Ely, Raimund, Buddy & Marcus, who would have thought that these simple men (not that guwapo type), would rock the Philippine music industry. What went wrong in 2002? Well I don’t have any idea either.

At last! The long wait is over. It was announced first a free concert sponsored by Philip Morris but the giant cigarette company wasn’t able to get a permit to sponsor the said event. Finally, Radiohead Solutions and MTV Philippines (I am not sure if Sony BMG is included) took the responsibility of organizing it but it’ s not a free concert anymore.

My ticket

Afternoon of Friday (August 29, 2008) I bought 2 tickets (for me and my husband Paolo) at NB, Mall of Asia. I am too excited. I even boasted it to my officemates.

August 30, 2008, Pao & I left the house at around 2 in the afternoon and went to Glorieta first just roam around. 6 pm we arrived at the concert venue. Lots of people were already there. Oh! Lots of bouncers also…hihihi…

Open Field The Fort Taguig

The much awaited concert begins at around 8:15 pm, with the song “Alapaap” , people were all screaming because of happiness (I guess)… To name some of the songs that they sang “With a Smile”, “Hey Jey”, “Kailan”, “Kamasupra”, “Fruitcake”, “Toyang”, “Harana”, “Ligaya” and 6 others for their first set.

It was really really fun but the happiness of the crowd was turned into a mixed emotion when Buddy, Raimund, Marcus minus Ely but with Lally (Ely’s Sister) went to the stage and announced that Ely was rushed to the hospital and they need to cut-short the concert.

Well, I guess all of us there were civilized enough to understand the situation. I mean we’re talking about someone’s life at stake. I immediately called up my sister to spread the news.

Pao and I ended up listening to their songs inside the car on our way home. Oh funny thing also since ”Ang Huling El Bimbo” is my favorite E-heads song when I heard the part “Sa Panaginip Na Lang Pala Kita Maiisasayaw” suddenly tears fell down from my eyes. Hahahaha…
